Fish at the world famous Lake Raduta with Angling International
10 men, 10 days, 700 runs, Romania’s Vice President and 12,500lb of carp all thanks to the Dynamite Source boilies
The garage door opened to the site of boxes of Dynamite Source shelf life boilies standing from floor to ceiling - the anticipated ten minute job of labeling everyone’s bait was going to take slightly longer than anticipated!
As we maneuvered boxes into the allocated piles I chuckled to myself when I saw how much bait stood there for Frank and Jason. I then looked at my pile and saw that it was of similar proportions! Perhaps I had ordered too much?

We arrived at the splendid Lake Raduta hotel to be warmly greeted by Robert Raduta and his fantastic staff. A welcome cold bottle of beer was thrust into everyone’s hands and eager discussions started as to where everyone wanted to spend the next ten days fishing.
Being as keen as ever, Steve and Huw voted to go out into the dark on the first night whilst the rest of us decided to recover from the journey with a leisurely meal and a few beers on the veranda.
Jason with a lovely common
Early next morning saw boats and vans running around the lake to deposit the bivvies and boats in the correct locations. Mid morning saw the arrival to the hotel of Romania’s Vice president, who despite being a keen bream angler was desperate to give carp fishing a whirl. After an hour of tuition from Frank and a few bags of Dynamite Source better off, the Vice President was taken by head bailiff Paco to Becker’s point, where in the next 2 hours he managed to extract 3 carp. "Easy this carp fishing," was his quote to Robert over the evening meal.

Anyway, to the more serious issue of our fishing. We spread around the lake and had our baits in by nightfall, by next morning everyone was commenting on lack of sleep with the non-stop action that we received. Indeed the two Mark’s had stopped fishing by midnight so they could get some rest.

Much has been written about Lake Raduta in the past of it being a difficult big fish water. Yes that still is the case today. In 2,500 acres of Lake I would estimate that there may only be 20 to 30 of the original really big fish left, but what has hardly been mentioned is that there are several thousand fish in the 20lb to 40lb bracket with a staggering amount of 30lb commons. If you are looking for un-pressured fishing with constant bobbins action, then there really is no better place to spend a weeks than Raduta.

Frank with another chunk
Yes, there are some of us who go there to target the original big fish and indeed I firmly believe that the World record will return to Raduta in the not too distant future, but for the average angler wanting to experience unbelievable sport don’t be put off by the rumors of how hard it is.
To catch several Raduta carp is quite easy, it’s just the 25kg fish that are proving a bit more elusive…but watch this space because in October myself Frank and Jason firmly believe that we can at last break through this barrier. We’ll have updates of that trip on www.dynamitebaits.com
We haven’t got space here to list all the details of the captures over the 10 days but when we tallied up the 10 angler’s totals at the end of the session we had received over 700 runs, landed over 12,500lb of fish and had used over 600kg of Dynamite Source. The largest fish landed between us was a 46lb young looking mirror caught by myself, whilst Imre from Hungary was fortunate enough to catch one of the sought after originals, Rambo, at just short of 55lb.
All of us at Angling International would like to thank Dynamite Baits for producing what has become THE bait to use at Raduta.
